What is a sports massage?
Sports massage is a form of massage that involves manipulating soft tissue aimed primarily at people who participate in regular physical activity and those that live a physically demanding lifestyle.
 

This form of massage takes into account the effects of different activities on particular joints, muscle groups, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue groups.  The benefits of such massage techniques are maximised when sports therapy massage is given a conscious focus.

What are the benefits of sports massage?
Sports massage is proven to release and reduce tension in muscles, improve circulation and encourage the removal of waste products such as lactic acid during high intensity activity and can help to relax the body.  All of this helps promote recovery and reduces the chance of muscle injury.

Can anyone have a sports massage?
Sports massage isn't just for athletes, everyone can benefit from a sports massage to keep their body in check.  In fact, the regular use of sports massage therapy can prevent a range of injuries and is a great way to release tension, regain balance, and promote relaxation. 

How often should I have a sports massage?
If you live an active lifestyle, for example, by participating in different activities frequently then it is recommended to have a sports massage every week.  However, if you are less active then receiving treatment every 1-3 weeks is ideal.

What should I wear for a sports massage?
It is best to wear comfortable, loose fitted clothing for your treatment. Any type of gym clothing such as shorts and a T-shirt is a good option.  Also if you have long hair it is best to tie it back so no oil gets in contact with the hair and it will be out of the therapists way.

What is your cancellation policy?
Revive massage's cancellation policy is that all massage appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance or the full fee will be charged.  You can reschedule or cancel your appointment without being charged up to 24 hours prior to your appointment by contacting your therapist via text message or phone call.
